Dr. Nathan Grimm is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine with expertise in the care of athletes of all ages. A native of Idaho, he earned his undergraduate degree at Boise State University and completed medical school at the University of Utah, where his early research focused on cartilage restoration and osteochondritis dissecans of the knee. He went on to complete his orthopedic surgery training at Duke University, where he worked with Division I athletes and furthered his focus on sports medicine. During this time, he also trained in France with Dr. Pascal Boileau, a world-renowned shoulder surgeon, to advance his skills in arthroscopy and shoulder replacement.

Dr. Grimm completed his Pediatric and Adult Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Connecticut and Connecticut Children’s, caring for UConn basketball, football, soccer, and ice hockey teams, as well as Quinnipiac ice hockey. He has contributed extensively to the field of orthopedics, publishing more than 20 book chapters and over 40 peer-reviewed articles, along with numerous national and international presentations.

His clinical and surgical interests include hip arthroscopy, open and arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery, advanced cartilage restoration, and shoulder replacement. As a surgeon, educator, and researcher, Dr. Grimm is committed to advancing treatment, mentoring the next generation of physicians, and helping athletes return safely to the activities they love.
