Dr. Eric Edmonds is Director of Orthopedic Research and Co-Director of 360 Sports Medicine at Rady Children’s Hospital–San Diego. He is one of the region’s only fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeons with subspecialty certification in sports medicine, serving patients across San Diego, Imperial, Riverside, and Orange counties. He is also a Professor of Clinical Orthopedic Surgery at UC San Diego, where he plays an active role in educating fellows, residents, and medical students.

A graduate of The Johns Hopkins University and the UC Davis School of Medicine, Dr. Edmonds completed his residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, followed by a fellowship in pediatric orthopedics and scoliosis at Rady Children’s Hospital. He also completed a sabbatical in sports medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and Kaiser Permanente San Diego.

Dr. Edmonds’ clinical focus includes youth sports medicine and musculoskeletal trauma, with research interests in adolescent shoulder and knee injuries, ankle injuries, and fracture treatment. He is an active member of multiple multicenter research teams, including the ROCK (Research on Osteochondritis Dissecans of the Knee) study group. His work has earned national recognition, including the St. Giles Young Investigator Award from the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America.
