Dr. Theodore Ganley is Director of the Sports Medicine and Performance Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), where he has cared for pediatric, adolescent, and young adult athletes since 1997. He holds the Bisignano Family Distinguished Endowed Chair in Sports Medicine and serves as an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Ganley specializes in the arthroscopic treatment of knee, shoulder, and elbow injuries in high-performance young athletes. He is internationally recognized for pioneering growth plate–sparing ACL reconstruction techniques that allow safe treatment of ligament injuries in skeletally immature patients. His expertise includes ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair, cartilage preservation, shoulder instability, and management of complex pediatric fractures and trauma.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Ganley is a leading researcher in pediatric sports medicine. He co-founded the Research in Osteochondritis Dissecans of the Knee (ROCK) group and helped establish the Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine (PRiSM) society, where he serves in leadership. He is also an active member of collaborative groups such as the Multicenter ACL Revision Study (MARS). His extensive publications and international lectures focus on optimizing outcomes for young athletes with ligament, cartilage, and trauma-related conditions.

Through his clinical innovations, research leadership, and dedication to education, Dr. Ganley has advanced the field of pediatric sports medicine worldwide.
