Dr. Benton Heyworth is an orthopedic surgeon in the Division of Sports Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital, where he serves as Associate Program Director of the Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship. He is also an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School. Board-certified in both orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, Dr. Heyworth specializes in the care of pediatric, adolescent, and young adult athletes with knee, shoulder, and upper extremity injuries.
A graduate of Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, he completed residency training at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, followed by fellowships in orthopedic sports medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and in pediatric orthopedics at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Heyworth is an active researcher with leadership and participation in numerous multicenter study groups, including JUPITER, ROCK, MEMO, CORTICES, PLUTO, SCORE, and FACTS. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine (PRiSM) Society and is a member of POSNA and AOSSM. His work is dedicated to advancing treatment strategies for young athletes and improving long-term outcomes after injury.
