Dr. Mininder Kocher is Chief of the Sports Medicine Division and Surgical Director of Satellites at Boston Children’s Hospital, where he also serves as Director of the Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship. He is a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School and a Team Orthopedic Consultant for Babson College.

Board-certified in both orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, Dr. Kocher specializes in the diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of pediatric and adolescent athletes. His areas of expertise include ACL injuries, meniscus tears, patellar instability, hip preservation, cartilage repair, shoulder instability, and overuse injuries common in young athletes. He directs multiple programs at Boston Children’s, including the ACL Program, Female Athlete Program, Throwers Clinic, and Child and Young Adult Hip Preservation Program.

Dr. Kocher earned his undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College, medical degree at Duke University, and completed residency through the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Surgery Program. He pursued fellowship training in pediatric orthopedics at Boston Children’s Hospital and in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado. He also earned a Master of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health and later completed executive education at Harvard Business School.

An internationally recognized leader in pediatric sports medicine, Dr. Kocher has advanced surgical techniques, published extensively, and trained fellows and residents worldwide. His commitment is to restoring young athletes to full activity, improving long-term outcomes, and advancing the field through clinical research and education.
