Dr. Gregory Myer is Director of the Emory Sports Performance and Research Center (SPARC), based at the Atlanta Falcons headquarters, where he leads cutting-edge research and clinical innovation in sports performance, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. With more than 20 years of experience, he previously founded and directed The SPORT Center and The Human Performance Laboratory at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
An internationally recognized leader in athletic injury biomechanics and human performance neuroscience, Dr. Myer has authored over 480 peer-reviewed publications with more than 62,000 citations (h-index >90). His work focuses on ACL injury prevention, concussion research, and translating discovery into practical tools that improve outcomes for athletes. He has led multiple federally and industry-funded clinical trials, advancing strategies for knee injury prevention, concussion management, and performance optimization in youth athletes.
Dr. Myer’s innovative contributions include the development of a patented augmented neuromuscular training (aNMT) biofeedback system, which provides real-time interactive rehabilitation support and has been recognized as a top medical innovation. His team’s efforts also supported FDA clearance of a novel medical device to prevent sports-related brain injuries.
A Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, Dr. Myer has received numerous honors, including the William J. Kraemer Outstanding Sport Scientist Award, the Bart Mann Award for the Advancement of Sports Medicine Research, and the Hugh C. McLeod, III, MD Award of Excellence. He is frequently invited to speak at national and international symposia and continues to shape the future of sports medicine through his leadership, innovation, and commitment to protecting young athletes.
