Dr. Jeffrey Nepple is an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine and Director of the Washington University and St. Louis Children’s Young Athlete Center. He also serves as Co-Director of the Washington University Hip Preservation Service.

Dr. Nepple specializes in pediatric and adolescent sports medicine, with expertise in both hip and knee disorders in young athletes. His clinical interests include femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), labral tears, slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE), osteochondritis dissecans (OCD), ACL injuries, meniscal tears, and patellar instability. He emphasizes minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques to optimize outcomes for adolescents and young adults with complex hip and knee conditions.

Dr. Nepple earned his medical degree and Master of Science in Clinical Investigation at Washington University in St. Louis, where he also completed residency and a pediatric orthopedics fellowship. He furthered his training in sports medicine at the Steadman Clinic and Steadman-Philippon Research Institute.

An active researcher and educator, Dr. Nepple has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and is involved in multicenter collaborations advancing care for young athletes. His work bridges clinical excellence, innovation in arthroscopic techniques, and dedication to helping patients return safely to sport and activity.
