Eric J. Wall, MD, is Professor of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati and serves as Director of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and the Orthopaedic Fellowship Program at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. A board-certified orthopedic surgeon with subspecialty certification in sports medicine, Dr. Wall specializes in the care of sports injuries in growing athletes, from children through young adults, with expertise in ACL reconstruction in skeletally immature patients, osteochondritis dissecans (OCD), patellar instability, and growth plate overuse syndromes. He also provides care for pediatric orthopedic trauma.

Dr. Wall earned his medical degree at the University of California, San Diego, where he also completed his residency and biomechanics/spine research fellowship. He went on to complete a pediatric orthopedic fellowship at Los Angeles Children’s Hospital.

His research interests focus on youth ACL injuries, OCD, and patella dislocation. He is a co-founder of multicenter research groups including ROCK (Research in Osteochondritis Dissecans of the Knee) and PLUTO (Pediatric ACL: Understanding Treatment Options), which have advanced evidence-based care for young athletes worldwide. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and regularly presents surgical techniques and clinical outcomes research at national and international meetings.

Dr. Wall is recognized for his contributions to clinical care, education, and research, having received multiple awards throughout his career. At Cincinnati Children’s, consistently ranked among the nation’s top pediatric hospitals, he is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of diagnosis, treatment, and education for patients and families.
