Philip L. Wilson, MD, is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon specializing in pediatric and adolescent sports medicine and orthopedic trauma. He serves as Assistant Chief of Staff and Director of the Center for Excellence in Sports Medicine at Scottish Rite for Children, where he also acts as Associate Program Director of the Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship. In addition, he is a Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center and the Medical Director of Scottish Rite’s North Campus in Frisco, Texas.
Dr. Wilson completed his undergraduate studies at Baylor University and earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He remained at UT Southwestern for his internship in general surgery and residency in orthopedic surgery. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in pediatric orthopaedics and scoliosis at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego and in arthroscopy and sports medicine at the ADIDAS Sports Medicine Clinics in Auckland, New Zealand.
Board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Wilson’s clinical expertise includes the treatment of complex pediatric and adolescent sports injuries, traumatic orthopedic conditions, and scoliosis. As an educator and mentor, he plays an active role in training the next generation of orthopedic surgeons through fellowship and residency teaching.
