Dr. Andrew Pennock is a pediatric orthopedic and sports medicine surgeon at Rady Children’s Hospital–San Diego and Associate Clinical Professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He specializes in treating sports injuries in adolescents and young adults, with expertise in knee, hip, and shoulder disorders. His practice includes advanced arthroscopic and reconstructive procedures for ACL tears, meniscal injuries, femoroacetabular impingement, and shoulder instability.

A summa cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College and former All-American skier, Dr. Pennock earned his medical degree with honors at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed residency and an orthopedic research fellowship at UC San Diego, followed by advanced fellowship training at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado, and a pediatric orthopedic fellowship at Rady Children’s.

Dr. Pennock is also a team physician for the U.S. Ski Team and travels internationally to provide care for elite athletes. His research interests include adolescent hip preservation, labral pathology, and pediatric knee injuries, and he has contributed extensively to multicenter studies on ACL reconstruction, osteochondritis dissecans, and fracture management.
